The Big Picture

This project consisted of a new 185,000 SF high school with a 2-story classroom wing, Kitchen, Gym (main and auxiliary) and an Auditorium. The school was built on an existing site next to the existing school that was in operation until the new school was built. The demolition of the existing school was conducted after the new school was fully occupied. The new ball fields take place where the original building stood. East High School and Centennial Highschool is CHPS certified.

Ingenuity in Action

Our integrated preconstruction efforts resulted in immense savings toward the budget on the East High School and Centennial Highschool project. We implemented our preconstruction processes and were able to identify the best overall foundation system for the soil type and building performance, determine the best foundation retaining wall design, evaluate historical cost data to determine that kitchen equipment reductions could be made without sacrificing performance, and leverage relationships with abatement and demo contractors along with input from the consultants to determine the best methods for both abatement and demolition.
